What Does High-Performing Content Earn a Brand?
Views alone do not show what a piece of content earned the brand.

There is a difference between a piece of content being watched a lot and it being of use. I think this is one of the distinctions most easily missed in marketing.
A fun video published on a hotel account, for example, can be watched more than a piece of content that describes the rooms and the stay. That result, on its own, does not show that the next post should use the same entertainment format. First you need to know the purpose the content was made for.
If the goal is to reach new people, views and shares are meaningful signals. If we want to support the decision of someone evaluating the hotel, interest that moves toward room details, the location, or the services can be more telling. If we are expecting a reservation request, we cannot end the evaluation on the video alone.
That is why I do not find it useful to set the creative idea against the data. The more important question is which outcome we use to judge the creative idea.
Data should improve our next decision. Seeing where people leave the video can lead us to rethink the opening. A post that is saved often can point to a need for a fuller piece of content. High views without interest toward the brand can suggest that the format drew attention, but did not carry the message well enough.
None of these is a final judgment on its own. They need to be read together with the subject of the content, its audience, and the conditions in which it was published.
For me, a good content review should answer three questions: Who did we reach? What did we tell that person about the brand? What happened next?
If we cannot answer these questions, we may have a number that looks successful. But we do not yet know why we should repeat that same success.
Measuring the value of creative work properly is not reducing it to numbers alone. It is starting the next piece of work more deliberately, by understanding which idea worked for which purpose.
